Orioles Minor Leaguer Racks Up Most April K’s for Kids

In a competition that will rage all summer long, Frederick Keys pitcher Radhames Liz chalked up 39 strikeouts – the most of any pitcher participating in CareFirst’s K’s for Kids program.  Through the effort, CareFirst will donate between $10 and $25 for each strikeout recorded this season by pitchers for the Baltimore Orioles, Washington Nationals, Aberdeen Ironbirds, Bowie Baysox, Frederick Keys and Delmarva Shorebirds.

The American Cancer Society’s Healthy Kids program will receive $25 for every strikeout by an Orioles pitcher and the D.C. –area Boys and Girls Clubs will receive the same amount each time a Nationals pitcher sets a batter down.  Areas Boys and Girls Clubs serving communities near the minor league affiliates will receive $10 for every strikeout.
